When I'm in a new city I always like to check out one of their Mexican restaurants. It's always my go to for a "cheat" day, when I don't want to watch my calories. El Molcajete did not disappoint. There were 10 of us so it took a few minutes to get us seated but when they did there were already chips and salsa waiting for us! The salsa was really good and they will also bring you out a bunch of bowls of all their other salsas as well upon request. I believe there were 5 others besides the traditional. They all varied in heat from just a bean dip to very very hot. I had the Molcajete that had all the different meats in it and it was a great price, $24.99, and i couldn't even scratch the surface of finishing it. Others in my party had everything from steak tacos to burritos and chicken fingers and fries. Nobody was disappointed. Although they were actually pretty busy it was still fairly quiet and layed back. There is plenty of space between the tables so that you're not overhearing the conversation from the table next to you. I will definitely be back the next time we're in Springfield and I recommend that you try it if you're here too!
